According to the ancient annals and in particular John O'Harts interpretation of them our lineage goes back to Adam, through the High Kings of Ireland and Milesius of Spain.

O'Hart used many sources including:

bullet the Annals of the Four Masters
bulletGaelic genealogies, like those of O'Clery, MacFirbis and O'Farrell
bullet the works of Burke, Collins, Harris, Lodge and Ware
bullet details obtained directly from the families concerned, often from private papers or family tradition.

Historians such as Sir Ian Moncreiffe of that Ilk and the great antiquarian Earl of Argyll, trace us back to Anrothan and the High Kings of Ireland.

Who can prove it? Who can disprove it?
